Ingredients:
1 500g of beef, preferably sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color you prefer)
1 cup broccoli florets
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (cornstarch slurry)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef: Cut the beef into bite-sized cubes, and season it with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Sear the Beef: Add the cubed beef to the hot oil and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it's browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, sliced onion, bell pepper, and broccoli florets. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
Combine the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Pour this sauce mixture into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables.
Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the vegetables.
Return the Beef: Add the seared beef back to the skillet and stir to coat it with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the beef to heat through.
Taste and Adjust: Taste the stir-fry and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
Serve: Transfer the diced beef stir-fry to a serving dish, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired, and serve hot. You can serve it over rice or noodles if you like.
