Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece of ginger, minced
Assorted vegetables (bell pepper, onion, broccoli, snap peas, carrots), sliced
1/4 cup low-sodium beef or chicken broth
2 tbsp oyster sauce
Optional: sesame oil, green onions for garnish
Cooked rice or noodles
Instructions:
Marinate beef in soy sauce, rice wine, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper for 20 minutes.
Heat oil in a skillet or wok, add garlic and ginger, stir-fry for 30 seconds.
Add marinated beef, sear for 2 minutes, then remove.
Stir-fry vegetables for 3-4 minutes.
Return beef to skillet, add broth and oyster sauce. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Optionally, drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with green onions.
Serve over rice or noodles.
